These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the tutoring services provided by Maths with Safin. By booking a lesson or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Services

Maths with Safin provides private tutoring services in Mathematics and Computer Science for students at various levels including GCSE, A-Level, IB, and international qualifications.

Lessons are delivered online via video conferencing or in-person at agreed locations in the London area.

2. Booking and Payment

Booking Lessons

  • Lessons are booked by agreement via email, phone, or our contact form
  • Regular lesson times will be agreed in advance where possible
  • One-off lessons may be arranged subject to availability

Payment Terms

  • Lesson rates will be communicated clearly before booking
  • Payment is due [before the lesson / at the end of each month - please specify your preferred terms]
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer or other agreed methods
  • Block bookings or term packages may be offered at a discounted rate

3. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Student/Parent

  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours notice: No charge, lesson can be rescheduled
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice: Full lesson fee may be charged
  • No-shows without notice: Full lesson fee will be charged

Cancellation by Tutor

  • In the event that I need to cancel a lesson, I will provide as much notice as possible
  • Cancelled lessons will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time
  • No charge will be made for tutor-cancelled lessons

4. Lesson Conduct

  • Students are expected to come to lessons prepared and ready to learn
  • Homework or practice tasks may be set between lessons
  • Students should have necessary materials ready (textbooks, calculator, etc.)
  • For online lessons, students should have a stable internet connection and quiet workspace

5. Academic Integrity

Our tutoring services are designed to help students understand and learn subject material. We do not provide assistance with:

  • Completing assessed coursework or NEA projects on behalf of students
  • Any form of academic misconduct or examination malpractice
  • Activities that violate examination board regulations

I reserve the right to refuse or terminate services if asked to assist with academically dishonest activities.

6. Results and Guarantees

While I am committed to providing high-quality tutoring, I cannot guarantee specific exam results or grade improvements. Success depends on many factors including the student's effort, attendance, practice, and circumstances beyond the tutor's control.

7. Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of students is paramount. I am committed to safeguarding best practices:

  • DBS checked (Enhanced Certificate available on request)
  • Parents/guardians may be present during lessons for students under 18
  • Online lessons may be recorded for safeguarding purposes with consent
  • Any concerns about a child's welfare will be reported appropriately

8. Intellectual Property

All materials, worksheets, and resources created by Maths with Safin remain my intellectual property. Materials are provided for the student's personal educational use only and should not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

Maths with Safin shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of tutoring services. Total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the relevant tutoring sessions.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the tutoring arrangement at any time with reasonable notice. Outstanding payments must be settled upon termination.

11. Changes to Terms

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to existing clients. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
